Recently, for the first time in a long time, I was able to play some Madden with a couple of friends. I don’t play it that often, and when I do, it’s typically by myself; but I had a couple friends over so we decided to play a few games. It was a lot of fun, and I got some good highlights from our gameplays.
I’m not that good at Madden. It’s mostly because I don’t play it that often, and because I don’t know the game of football well enough to have a solid offensive and defensive strategy. I love the game though. I think they got just about everything right, and when I get frustrated playing it’s because of something I did, not because of something the game did (unlike that other sports game). I’d like to play it more often, but I have the most fun playing with friends who are actually visiting, not playing with them online, so I’ll just continue to wait until those times arise to play.
The one complaint that I do have about Madden, and really all EA Sports games on the Xbox One, is that they take too many liberties recording moments. I noticed it did this in FIFA as well. I don’t necessarily want a clip every time I score; and I definitely don’t want a clip recorded every time I get scored on. I’m perfectly capable of using the “Xbox Record That” feature myself to get the clips that I do want. I’m sure there’s a way to turn it off, but I don’t really think much about it until I’m in a game and it happens. Fortunately (unfortunately?) I don’t play them often enough for it to be a huge deal for me, but when I do play, it’s kind of annoying.
Without further ado though, here are the highlights!
The first game was me against my buddy from out of town. The night before he was talking a big game about how he was really good at Madden. I challenged him to a game to see what he could do. He turned out to be way worse that I am. I ended up beating him so bad that we had to stop the game halfway through the third quarter. He wasn’t pissed, and didn’t rage quit or anything, but we just decided that there wasn’t a point to keep playing, there were other people waiting to play.
This second video is of me playing against my roommate. He played football all of his life, and he spent a couple of years coaching it. I didn’t stand a chance. While I was asking madden on every play and hoping that would work, he’s picking specific plays and calling audibles at the line. If I’m not mistaken, we had to stop this game before it was over as well. Needless to say, the majority of this clip is of him scoring on me.
This third video is a short one. It’s just a couple of random highlights from the day while we were playing. At some point, we stopped playing each other and started playing Ultimate Team, and that’s included in this video as well.
You win some and you lose some. It’s alright. One day, maybe, I’ll work on my game so I can dominate people more often.
